SEC Men’s Tournament Prediction-March 2010 in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena

It is hard to believe that we are already at the end of the Men’s regular season in the SEC.  Many things worked out the way I thought.  I assumed Kentucky would get better and they did.  I also knew that Vandy would be competitive and they were.  What I didn’t get was that the SEC west would be so weak.  It was very surprising to see how mediocre Mississippi and Mississippi State played and I was really surprised at the performance of Arkansas.  This makes me wonder how much longer John Pelphrey can hang on there.

I predicted 7 games correctly and missed 5 of them.  My overall record was 65 correct and 32 incorrect, a hit rate of  67% for the year.  The biggest surprise was the Vandy loss at home to South Carolina, a bitter defeat for Jermain Beal in his final appearance at Memorial Gym.  Let’s hope that his teammates show up during season two this weekend and in season three in the NCAA tourney.
